Some updates

Sorry its been awhile. I decided not to do the Expansion draft list. Everyone has done one and I don't think I have anything different to say. I would like to see Janicki, Burch and McTavish on the list. Burch and Mctavish didn't have a stellar season, but I think they still have a lot to offer and a lot to prove. Give them another healthy season and I think we will really see what they're made of. Janicki is young and did really well those last few games of the season. I hope the FO sees what everyone else sees in this kid, I good centerback with height, skill and motivation. He definitely still has some to learn about this league, but overall he did better then most in that position all year!

Fred is in New Zealand right now on loan to Wellington FC Phoenix in the Hyunda A league. I think this will be good for him, as long as he stay healthy. From everything I've read, Fred was a star when he played before. Hopefully, this will get his confidence back and some of his form back. He still has the skill, but cannot finish anything. Its gotten to the point when he would get into the 18 yard box, you knew it was going straight to the keeper or straight into the posts. I'd like to see him switch that up a little next year. Okay, I would like to see him change that A LOT next year!!!!

So, of all the awards given out in the last few weeks, they save the best for last. No, not the MVP award, the Comeback Player of the Year. Of course, I'm hoping Santino gets this award. For so many reasons. He beat so many of his own records, minute and games played and goals scored. But mostly because of his re-dedication to the sport and to this team. Tino showed heart, dedication, leadership (not counting the last game!!!). Plus, his personal triumphs. Coming back after the addiction and proving himself on a personal and work level. The kid deserves this award way more then anyone this season. I think MLS made this the last award given just to fuck with Tino and the rest of us!

I'm trying to think of anything else going on with the team, but its been pretty quite. So on to other stuff....

Guillermo Barros Schelotto has been chosen league MVP. Good for him and Columbus! He definitely deserved this award. What was it? 19 assits? Crazy!!!

The MLS Cup is this Sunday and I think they announce the Comeback PLayer of the Year Saturday or Sunday, so I guess I will be back then. The Expansion draft is early next week as well. Cross you fingers!!!!! See ya then!
