Sounders got GAME!

If you didn't catch the Seattle Sounders game last night, you totally missed out! WOW! I was speechless most of the game. Not only was the ball a magnet to Montero's feet, but my eyes were glued to him. What a player! MLS and Seattle are very lucky to have this kid, lets just see how long he stays! This is definitely someone to watch for in the future, if not right now! As for the team as a whole, very impressive! They were organized and smart. The attack was way more then I expect most teams in this league to play. The defense was a wall. And Kasey Keller? Well lets just say I wouldn't want to be playing against him, SICK!

Now, with all that being said, the Pink Cows were AWFUL! I think some of the players thought they were still on vacation. The defense was unorganized and didn't seem to communicate well. The midfield, well there was no midfield! Angel looked frustrated and looked as if he might kill someone. Glad he didn't! Kandji was tripping over his overly large feet. They were just awful. Not a great way to start the season. Being a DCU fan, HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Now besides being speechless about the Sounders, they only other thing I keep thinking was that DCU is screwed when they play the Sounders. Montero will tear their defense apart! He's fast, they're slow! He has some very impressive foot skills, they don't! I'm just hoping Soehn is smart enough to have watched the game last night and watch the future games to really see what this kid is about and find a way to stop him! I'm going to keep my faith for now, but we'll see!

The season does start for United on Sunday against the Galaxy. The gals have had a makeover this offseason, so the game could go either way. As bad as everyone says the defense is, I'm hoping they are all wrong. However, I am excited to see Olsen, Gomez and Moreno all together again. That might just be what this team needed last year to improve. Gomez has a lot to prove not only to this team, but to his fans and critics everywhere. So lets hope for the best and hope our defense can stick together and prove everyone else wrong.

VAMOS UNITED!!!!

Good Riddance

Big Goffinho is reporting that Gallardo could be on his way back to Argentina. Thank you Soccer Gods! Where do they go from here?

Pre-season training started last week and DCU has yet to announce any new signings. Plus, the international tranfer window will close in four days. I'm getting a little worried. Does the FO really think this team will be able to compete in this league this season? While other teams are bringing in new talent and adding depth; DCU is twiddling their thumbs and watching. I guess maybe I'm a little frustrated right now, but COME ON!

There have been rumors about the team signing a Brazilian centerback named Roger. The guy will be 34 in April, has had back problems the last few months. He has only been playing this position for about 2 or 3 years as well. Lets get this guy signed and throw him on the pitch at Giants stadium, or Gillette or BMO. See how his back feels then. How is this a good signing?

Some other reports have linked the team to signing Walter Martinez from a Honduras team. Except that he was just introduced to a team in Spain. They have also been linked to a couple Americans abroad, but nothing has come of that.

What's going to happen if Burch, McTavish, Janicki or Namoff get injured? What happens if Moreno gets injured? This team is screwed. There is no depth. I understand that they weren't expecting Gallardo to leave, but they should have something to fall back on.

I know I should have faith in my team. I should have faith in Kasper and Payne, but after last year, I don't. I love this team, so I'm going to sit back and pray someone knows what they're doing. I will still be cheering in the stands and I will still debate with other fans on why DC United rocks. But it doesn't mean I'm happy and it doesn't mean they are the best team in the MLS.

PLEASE PLEASE for the love of Soccer God, please add some skill and depth to this team, PLEASE!
